About Me

I do my best work when things are genuinely complex and the stakes are real.

Twenty years across banking, life sciences, medical devices, TIC and emerging technologies - operating inside complexity, not observing it, not advising from a distance but owning decisions with accountability for what followed.

Background

My career started in strategic financial analysis inside Bulgaria’s largest bank, working on multi-year strategic plans and due diligence. After winning DSM's Financial Talent Pool in 2007, I joined the company where I moved from managing credit risk during the 2008 financial crisis through corporate treasury, business control and onto the management team of DSM Advanced Solar - where I contributed to a venture pivot from coatings to solar energy that reached ~50% global market share in AR coating, led commercialisation pilots across four continents, and owned risk management for DSM's €1bn innovation portfolio.

At Philips I operated inside one of the largest digital transformations in healthcare. At SGS I shaped the company's early positioning in AI and digital trust, coaching innovation teams globally and building the enterprise Generative AI programme from the ground up.

What this career has built

Finance and risk on one side. Innovation and venture building on the other. Strategy and governance above. Hands-on execution below. Most people develop depth in one of these. I have had to be credible in all of them simultaneously - and that is what makes the work interesting to me.

What I bring to every engagement is rare: a biology-trained scientist's systems thinking and precision, the financial and quantitative rigour of someone who owned finance and investment decisions, and a decade-plus of real hands-on innovation leadership inside the world's most complex regulated-market leaders. I do not just advise - I have been where you are and I can do the actual work.

Outside work

I have always been drawn to sports, competition and strategy. I competed nationally in 200m and 400m as a teenager, became a three-time medalist, and later placed second in Bulgaria in a 21k race. Today I still run, play tennis, ski and enjoy basketball. I also play chess - which fits the way I like to think: strategy, patterns, timing, trade-offs and consequences. I am a mother of two and I have a dog with whom I do trails and watch sunrises.
